Actress Krishnaveni dies at 101
Hyderabad: Noted Actress and producer Krishnaveni passed away at the age of 101 in the city. She breathed her last at her residence in Filmnagar on Sunday morning. Several film and political personalities condoled her death. They wished Krishnaveni’s soul rest in peace.
They recalled her services to the film industry. She introduced many celebrities like NTR, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao and singer P Leela to the Telugu screen with 'Mana Desam' movie. While acting as a producer of the film, she also paired with NTR in the movie. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu condoled the death of Krishnaveni. Extending Deepest condolences to her family members, he prayed for her soul to rest in peace and added that Krishnaveni had shown the glory of Telugu cinema in all directions.
Krishnaveni was born on December 24, 1924 in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh State. Her father was a medical practitioner. Krishnaveni started her career as a drama artist. She made her film debut as a child artiste with 'Sati Anasuya' released in 1966. Krishnaveni's family settled in Chennai to bag film opportunities. She was married in 1969 into the family of the Zamindar of Mirzapur. She produced many films under the banner of her husband's Shobanachala Studios.
Krishnaveni acted in films like 'Daksha Yajna', 'Jeevana Jyothi', 'Bheeshma', 'Gollabhama' and 'Ahuti’.
